But the news is bad!

Yes it is. I have down days too. I try to limit my exposure to  news and I also try to find the good news stories that are out there and promote them. Since I started looking turns out there are loads!

So welcome to my blog: Some good news about climate in the news.

We want to tell stories that move people. Scientists tell us that the most common source of awe for us humans is stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for a purpose outside themselves.

So to be a good news story about the climate crisis it must:

  1. Helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  2. Have at least one hero doing something extraordinary for a greater purpose.

These kinds of stories might move someone to action. Who knows – the person who hears it might be a janitor or a caregiver or a shop clerk or a lawyer or a professor or a grandma and they might make a different decision that day as a result of our human tendency to mimic others.

Hec… the worst that will happen is you might make someone feel better – or you might feel better! You will know that the most important thing you did today was tell a good news story about the climate crisis.

Yes telling good news stories matters a lot.

  • The stories we tell  Shape what we believe.
  • What we believe determines how we act.
  • How we act right now determines how cool our planet stays and how many species survive.

And the photo is Biscuit being a hero to me by being his sweet self. He really really hates heat waves, too much snow and food waste.
